After the 3rd Global: Dr. Rene Lacsina talks about alternative clean fuel technology

Wednesday, November 12th, 2008

North Central Mindanao, starting with Bukidnon and Misamis Oriental, is where a tribal community has offered Abundant Biofuels and Abundant Biofuels Philippines, Inc. a ground-breaking opportunity to develop over a million hectares of non-food crop land that is located in deforested areas. As a largely labor-intensive endeavor which will give a lot of employment to the tribal community, a share of the profits will also go to this tribal community which will fund their infrastructure projects.

The Education Forum group from Salinas and Monterey, California at the 3rd Global Filipino Networking Convention had brought these tribal leaders to meet with them. Dado Banatao was one of the resource speakers. Present at the forum was the president of a local community college in Monterey County, Hartnell College, at the 3rd Global. The convenor: Rodel Rodis (aka the “Father” of the Global Filipino Networking Convention concept).

Dr. Rene Lacsina, the President and CEO of Abundant Biofuels Philippines, is also the Vice President and Chief Agronomist of Abundant Biofuels.

After the 3rd Global: Updates from Joe Robles

Monday, November 10th, 2008

San Francisco Police Officer Joe Robles (Ret.) was one of the six members of the SFPD Philippine Exchange Training Consortium that networked with the Philippine National Police during the 3rd Global Filipino Networking Convention that was held at the Waterfront Hotel and Casino, Cebu City, Philippines last January 20-22, 2005. One of the major results of the SFPD PET’s involvement at the 3rd Global is their strengthened relationship with the Philippine National Police. In the past three years, the group has returned to the Philippines, bringing more of their police officer friends with them. The group has also donated much-needed equipment to their Philippine counterparts. They will be back at the 6th Global Filipino Networking Convention, bringing more of their colleagues from the San Francisco Bay Area to assist in police training programs.
